Where do I begin…
In 2000 I graduated from NAIT with a business diploma in Marketing. I worked in succession planning for five years and specialized in key-person insurance for corporations. I also organized the Ralph Klein Charity Classic Golf Tournament for five consecutive years.
A few years later I decided to travel. I sold my condo, put all my belongings in storage, and went to Australia to backpack for a year. One year turned into three and those three years were the best years of my life so far, as I was able to discover who I was and recognize and develop my strengths and become more independent.
Traveling gave me experiences that made me a better person. Meeting new people, which is sometimes a challenge, became second nature and I learned to work with many different personalities and cultures in both my professional and personal life. Depending only on myself and adapting to various new situations and jobs made me more flexible and accepting as a person. I believe these experiences have enabled me to think outside the box and enhance my team working capabilities.
I returned to Canada to be closer to my family, at which time I decided to update my education to broaden my employment opportunities and achieve my personal goals. I graduated with a BBA in Management.
I am very outgoing and enjoy people immensely; I love to challenge myself and learn. One of my mentors once told me: “The only way you will be different ten years from now from who you are today is through the people you meet and the books that you read”. I believe in this statement and never want to stop growing through experiences.
My dream is to find a career that enables me to make a difference. I enjoy writing, communications, marketing, corporate social responsibility, event planning, project management, sales and customer service. I am great at talking to people and am passionate about life and work hard in every task I take on. I received four scholarships at NAIT for my academic achievements and worked hard to accomplish a 4.0 GPA. My long term career objective is to work in communications, marketing, or management.
People are my passion and I believe that the ability to properly communicate is becoming a skill that is difficult to find. Any career that allows me the opportunity to use my leadership and creativity skills is a career I will commit to.
